Take the Game Seriously With the BlackBerry Playbook

The BlackBerry Playbook is being looked upon as a possible competitor to Apple's iPad, but the Playbook is a more versatile and fully-functional tablet computer than the iPad. The Playbook addresses some of the most conspicuous problems the iPad has, including true multi-tasking technology and the ability to render all web applications, including Adobe Flash.

The BlackBerry tablet OS allows multiple browser windows to be opened (and remain open, side-by-side), which means that users can watch a movie in one window and surf a website in another. Or, workers can have research on one window while typing a report in another. The Playbook also gives users access to everything the web has to offer, including rich web applications like Adobe Flash. Since most of the web's video and casual gaming is Flash-based, this opens up hundreds of thousands of pages that the BlackBerry Playbook can open that the iPad can't.

Speed has been an issue with netbooks in the past, but the BlackBerry Playbook is the fastest mobile computer on the market with professional grade performance. Games, videos, cloud-computing software and other applications should be able to be accessed and switched between more quickly than any other tablet computer with a 1 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM.

One necessity for productivity on a tablet computer is access to email, whether that email is available on a web-based client (like Microsoft's Live Email service or Google's Gmail) or a secure business email. BlackBerry Playbook email is available through online services with the Playbook's unprecedented rendering of HTML5, Adobe Flash, Java and other pictures, video and text. However, just like BlackBerry cell phones, most business email is also available on the BlackBerry Playbook.

The advantage of Blackberry Playbook email is that it is automatically able to connect with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server out of the box. That makes the Playbook an excellent tablet for use as a corporate email client, since all employees will be able to access a variety of corporate email systems including IBM email, Lotus Notes, Domino email or Novell GroupWise email. The Playbook's Enterprise Server connection works especially well with Microsoft Exchange email clients.

Hosted Exchange email offers users a flexible and reliable platform for email and all the aspects of the Microsoft Exchange email system that make it so useful in the office are also available on the road with the BlackBerry Playbook. Along with real-time email, employees can take advantage of having their Exchange calendars, appointments and the same high protection and compliance options that manage risk in the same manner as the desktop application when using hosted Exchange email.
