What Makes a Dual Core Laptop Fast?

Computer engineers have pretty much gotten silicon processors as fast as they can get them. This however does not make technology stop. Now instead of building one processor that is super fast, computer engineers are creating computers with several fast processors to share the processing load and speed things up.

It really is just like the saying that two heads are better than one. A few years ago one processor would have to do everything. Now several processors split up the work load and get it done in half the time. There are some other hardware features that can directly effect the speed of your dual core laptop. Here are somethings to consider in getting the most out of your dual core machine.

There are two main hardware components that will directly effect the speed of your computer. The first thing is RAM. RAM is the way your computer stores and retrieves often used information. The larger the RAM and the faster the RAM will directly effect the overall speed of your computer processing. If the computer can quickly and easily retrieve information, you will experience a much faster computer experience.

The second hardware component is the BUS speed. What is this you may ask? We will liken the BUS to a pipe. No matter how fast the pump is, if the pipe is small, it will limit the amount that will come out of it. The same is true in your computer. The BUS is that pipe. If the pipe is small or slow, the processors no matter how fast they are, will be limited in how much they can actually send through the machine.
